Tehillim 20 - YHWH Does Hear

So many times when things are very difficult, especially during those times we just really don't know what to do, it is easy (or at least for me it sure is) to want to keep praying the for same thing over and over. It is sort of like.....well just in case He didn't hear.... or like I just can't quite let go of worrying until I see His answer come. Tehillim (Psalm) 20 tells me, reminds me that walking in faith and trust in YHWH is to pray, to let go and praise Him because deep down I DO know He heard and has answered even if I don't yet see it. All I have to do is look back in my life and see all the times He heard, even His Word says He hears; YHWH never fails. HalleluYah.

Psa 20:1 יהוה does answer you in the day of distress! The Name of the Elohim of Yaʽaqoḇ does set you on high!
Psa 20:2 He does send you help from the set-apart place, And does uphold you from Tsiyon!
Psa 20:3 He does remember all your offerings, And does accept your burnt offering! Selah.
Psa 20:4 He does give you according to your heart, And fills all your plans!
Psa 20:5 We sing of Your deliverance, And in the Name of our Elohim we set up a banner! יהוה does fill all your requests!
Psa 20:6 Now I know that יהוה shall save His Anointed; He answers him from His set-apart heavens With the saving might of His right hand.
Psa 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, But we remember the Name of יהוה our Elohim.
Psa 20:8 They, they have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and are established.
Psa 20:9 Save, יהוה! Let the Sovereign answer us in the day we call.

May Our Words Be His Words

Probably none of us realize the impact our words have as we speak; we also often do not realize how words spoken to us, affect us.

Have you ever noticed that whatever “mood” you are in (or the mood anyone is in) affects the way words are received? Or the way words are given for that matter. Do we really consider the words that are coming out of our mouth?

We talk in earnest, in anger, in joy, in jest, in persuasion, with or without an agenda, yet wanting something always, even if it is only to share; we speak from what is in our heart. We speak with purpose even when we aren’t sure what that is; mostly we just speak and most often without giving much thought about why and what our words will be first (before the words leave our lips).

We either speak with love (walking in the Ruach) or with a form of lust (walking in the flesh/way of the world). It is hard to see it put so bluntly like that… i.e. love or lust but that is all there is actually, selflessness or selfishness; just those two. It is the putting others’ need before our own or the putting of ourselves above all others. Thus everything we think, say and do comes from that mindset of selflessness or selfishness. I don’t believe most of us even realize what mindset we are usually in.

I imagine that if truth be told, if we were to speak only with a selflessness and only as YHWH directed (out of His desire and not our own), we would not speak nearly as often as we do.

Mat 12:36 “And I say to you that for every idle word men speak, they shall give an account of it in the day of judgment.
Mat 12:37 “For by your words you shall be declared righteous, and by your words you shall be declared unrighteous.”

CJB version says “careless” (in place of “idle”); for me, this really helps to put it in full perspective. Actually, words are not idle at all. They either uplift or tear down. They encourage or incite and they either bring people together or they pit one against another (as in the way of the world where one puts themselves over another). Even when we don't mean to or realize it, our words are at work. They are of YHWH or not of YHWH and it really is that simple.

Jam 1:26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is worthless.

Jam 3:2 For we all stumble in many matters. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the entire body.
Jam 3:3 Look, we put bits in the mouths of horses, for them to obey us, and we turn their body.
Jam 3:4 Look at the ships too: although they are so big and are driven by strong winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot intends.
Jam 3:5 So too the tongue is a little member, yet boasts greatly. See how a little fire kindles a great forest!
Jam 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. Among our members the tongue is set, the one defiling the entire body, and setting on fire the wheel of life, and it is set on fire by Gehenna.
Jam 3:7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.
Jam 3:8 But no man is able to tame the tongue. It is unruly, evil, filled with deadly poison.
Jam 3:9 With it we bless our Elohim and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of Elohim.
Jam 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be so.

Jam 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good behaviour his works in meekness of wisdom.
Jam 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast against and lie against the truth.
Jam 3:15 This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but it is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
Jam 3:16 For where jealousy and self-seeking are, there is confusion and every foul deed.
Jam 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first clean, then peaceable, gentle, ready to obey, filled with compassion and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Jam 4:11 Brothers, do not speak against one another. He that speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against Torah and judges Torah. And if you judge Torah, you are not a doer of Torah but a judge.
Jam 4:12 There is one Lawgiver and Judge, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

Jam 5:9 Do not grumble against each other, brothers, lest you be judged. See, the Judge is standing at the door!

I am letting the Word do most of the speaking here for the instructions there (as blessed with Ruach Ha Kodesh), explains it far better than I could. I recommend reading all of James concerning this subject of our tongue (words) as it also addresses our heart because what comes out of our mouth began in our heart (where we hold our true desires); becoming thoughts and then put into action through words and deeds.

Yahushua taught:

Mat 5:44 “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those cursing you, do good to those hating you, and pray for those insulting you and persecuting you,
Mat 5:45 so that you become sons of your Father in the heavens. Because He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.1 Footnote: 1 Lk. 6:35, Acts 14:16-17.
Mat 5:46 “For if you love those loving you, what reward have you? Are the tax collectors not doing the same too?
Mat 5:47 “And if you greet your brothers only, what do you do more than others? Are the tax collectors not doing so too?
Mat 5:48 “Therefore, be perfect,1 as your Father in the heavens is perfect. Footnote: 1Ex. 17:1, Ps. 119:1, 1 John 2:5, Heb. 6:1.

Mat 7:12 “Therefore, whatever you wish men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Torah and the Prophets.”

Luk 6:31 “And as you wish men should do to you, you also do to them in the same way.
Luk 6:32 “And if you love those loving you, what favour have you? For sinners, too, love those loving them.
Luk 6:33 “And if you do good to those doing good to you, what favour have you? For even sinners do the same.
Luk 6:34 “And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive back, what favour have you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
Luk 6:35 “Rather, love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting none in return. And your reward shall be great, and you shall be sons of the Most High. Because He is kind to the thankless and wicked ones.1 Footnote: 1Mt. 5:45, Acts 14:16-17.
Luk 6:36 “Therefore be compassionate, as your Father also is compassionate.
Luk 6:37 “And do not judge, and you shall not be judged at all. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned at all. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven.
Luk 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given to you. A good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over shall be put into your lap. For with the same measure with which you measure, it shall be measured back to you.”

Our mindset, even the desires of our heart come from what we dwell on, what we focus and think on the most. It is why Yahushua’s disciples taught to think on those things that are good and pure.

Phi 4:4 Rejoice in יהוה always, again I say, rejoice!
Phi 4:5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Master is near.
Phi 4:6 Do not worry at all, but in every matter, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim.
Phi 4:7 And the peace of Elohim, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds through Messiah יהושע.
Phi 4:8 For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is righteous, whatever is clean, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any uprightness and if there is any praise – think on these.

Jam 4:7 So then subject yourselves to Elohim. Resist the devil1 and he shall flee from you. Footnote: 1Or adversary.
Jam 4:8 Draw near to Elohim and He shall draw near to you. Cleanse hands, sinners. And cleanse the hearts, you double-minded!

2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh.
2Co 10:4 For the weapons we fight with are not fleshly but mighty in Elohim for overthrowing strongholds,
2Co 10:5 overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah

1Pe 1:13 Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, set your expectation perfectly upon the favour that is to be brought to you at the revelation of יהושע Messiah,
1Pe 1:14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance,
1Pe 1:15 instead, as the One who called you is set-apart, so you also should become set-apart in all behaviour,
1Pe 1:16 because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.”

Jam 5:7 So, brothers, be patient until the coming of the Master. See, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
Jam 5:8 You too, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Master has drawn near.

Jer 17:10 “I, יהוה, search the heart, I try the kidneys, and give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

Psa 139:1 O יהוה, You have searched me And know me.
Psa 139:2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar.
Psa 139:3 You sift my path and my lying down, And know well all my ways.
Psa 139:4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But see, O יהוה, You know it all!

Psa 139:7 Where would I go from Your Spirit? Or where would I flee from Your face?

Psa 139:23 Search me, O Ěl, and know my heart; Try me, and know my thoughts;
Psa 139:24 And see if an idolatrous way is in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

May we be like our Master, our Example, our Messiah Yahushua; may we live walking in the Ruach and not of our flesh (i.e. walk in the desire of YHWH and not in our own desires). May our words build up, edify one another, be of peace, love, joy and come out of selflessness always. HalleluYah.

Tehillim 145 - YHWH Greatly to Be Praised For He Is Near to All Who Call

2 All day long I bless You, And praise Your Name forever and ever.
3 Great is יהוה, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.
4 Generation after generation praise Your works, And they declare Your mighty acts.
5 I declare the esteemed splendour of Your excellency, And the matters of Your wondrous works.
6 And they speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I recount Your greatness.
7 They send forth the remembrance of Your great goodness, And they sing of Your righteousness.
8 יהוה shows favour and is compassionate, Patient and great in kindness.
9 יהוה is good to all, And He has compassion on all His works.
10 All Your works give thanks to You, O יהוה, And Your kind ones bless You.
11 They speak of the esteem of Your reign, And talk of Your might,
12 To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the esteemed splendour of His reign.

I love praying to and praising YHWH with scripture. I love the Pslams/Tehillim because they are especially good for this. They also tell much about YHWH; of His mercy, goodness, of His works and of being near those who love Him and call upon Him. HalleluYah!

Do You Know Yahushua?

We get our first glimpse of life knowledge from our parents. We learn from what we see them do, from what they say and from what they understand about the things of life. This is especially true spiritually. They take us to where they learn and bolster their spiritual beliefs from. Later at some point, we come to the place where we must evaluate everything about life for ourselves, especially spiritually. As little children, we do not question anything from our parents who love us and give us security and safety. At some point as we learn to think and decide for ourselves, we look at what we believe (what we were “taught” to believe) and question why we believe it. We come to a place to seek “truth” for ourselves.

There is a saying, “talk is cheap”; which means people can say anything but if you want to be believed, you must back up your “talk” with action. Spiritual knowledge is just “empty facts” unless one backs it up with faith and that is to live what you believe.

I have known many of late who have decided to give up belief in Yahushua as Messiah, as the Son of “God” (YHWH) and for some, even as a person who existed altogether. It has given me to wonder, what do each of us really know for ourselves? When we “switch” belief systems, from where does our new one come from? Often we are switching from what our parents gave us to what someone we deem spiritually sound has begun to teach us. But what do we know for ourselves? What have we studied out? What have we asked YHWH to show us Himself? Do we even ask or be still to allow YHWH to teach us Himself? Do we believe He can? That He will?

Jer 31:33 “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisraʼĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.
Jer 31:34 “And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,ʼ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares יהוה. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.”
Jer 31:35 Thus said יהוה, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the laws of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, and its waves roar – יהוה of hosts is His Name:
Jer 31:36 “If these laws vanish from before Me,” declares יהוה, “then the seed of Yisraʼĕl shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.”

Again, anything we “know” but do not use in life is just head knowledge. Unfortunately for many of us, our whole spiritual life is mostly head knowledge; something we give time to a few times a week, a few special times throughout the year, because we were taught to do so or because it says to do so in the Word…to go through the motions of gathering together, of praying, singing praise and then go back to what we see, feel, hear physically (the “real” things) of life.

Who is Yahushua that we would so easily dismiss Him? What did He do and teach that is against Torah? or against YHWH? YHWH sent prophets, made men king, and did He not promise a Messiah? There are some who do not believe in a Messiah at all but most of us do; so, for us it is deciding who Messiah is.

Deciding; is that what our spiritual life consists of? I have been one who believes in seeking YHWH, in asking YHWH for HIS truth, believing that HE can and will teach each of us (as we allow Him to) through His Ruach Ha Kodesh. I believe we each can come to know in a personal way (by living what we believe), what we believe spiritually, again, in a person way. It is through experience, through experiencing something first hand that we truly know of what we speak. It then becomes more than just head knowledge but something that is a part of us, a part of our lives that is not easily shaken, replaced or doubted.

I believe we can also know Yahushua this way. There is a vast difference between knowing/hearing about Yahushua, forming a “belief” about Yahushua and the knowing on a personal level of Yahushua. It takes faith and trust (which is faith in action). Our spiritual lives should not be separate from the rest of our lives. If we look towards an eternity with our Creator, should we not begin to live here what we believe we will live when with Him? Should we not know our Creator? Should we not know also His promises and provisions He gave to us? One of those promises I believe in from YHWH, is to send a Messiah and I believe with all my heart, mind and being that Yahushua is YHWH’s Messiah to us.

From the beginning in the Bible (from the beginning of Tanahk), it has been about YHWH and mankind having a personal relationship. Man learning from YHWH; YHWH giving directly to man His commands. Yes YHWH sent prophets, teachers and even kings but it was because most people do not, will not seek YHWH for themselves. The people didn’t want YHWH directly over them; they asked for Him to go through Moshe and asked for a king and YHWH gave them the desire of their hearts. David had a very personal relationship with YHWH as did Moshe and others. We can too if we want it; if we seek it. What we seek, we will find.

My beliefs are meaningless to everyone else. YHWH is not a religion though the world sees the spiritual life as such. My challenge today is for each of us to ask YHWH to show us HIS truth; it will require an open heart and mind, it will require faith that He can and will give the answer, and it will require the willingness to give up knowledge we held or understood incorrectly as HE shows us His truth to be (this is putting YHWH first; His truth, His ways, His desire above our own).

Heb 11:1 And belief is the substance of what is expected, the proof of what is not seen.
Heb 11:2 For by this the elders obtained witness.
Heb 11:3 By belief, we understand that the ages were prepared by the word of Elohim, so that what is seen was not made of what is visible.
Heb 11:4 By belief, Heḇel offered to Elohim a greater slaughter offering than Qayin, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, Elohim witnessing of his gifts. And through it, having died, he still speaks.
Heb 11:5 By belief, Ḥanoḵ was translated so as not to see death, “and was not found because Elohim had translated him.” For before his translation he obtained witness, that he pleased Elohim.
Heb 11:6 But without belief it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to Elohim has to believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who earnestly seek Him.

I realize for those who have come to deny Yahushua, they must also set aside the “New Testament” and the rule of thumb is, to show someone spiritual things, you must show them from what they believe is scripture. The truth of the matter is, that even though Messiah is spoken of and shown in the Tanahk, those that are closed to Yahushua being Messiah, will not see or accept those scriptures as talking of Him anyway; so let’s examine what He said and did as recorded in the Renewed Covenant/New Testament/Messianic Scriptures (see, people can’t even agree what to call it lol).

Whatever is truly scripture in the eyes of YHWH, HIS Ruach will flow in it and speak to every heart open to receive it. I thank YHWH for His Word, His truth, for giving us softened hearts and minds, for giving us eyes to see, ears to hear and willingness to receive. HalleluYah.

What did Yahushua teach?

Mat 6:9 “This, then, is the way you should pray: ‘Our Father who is in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart,
Mat 6:10 let Your reign come, let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:11 ‘Give us today our daily bread.
Mat 6:12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 ‘And do not lead us into trial, but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.

Mat 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart shall be also.
Mat 6:22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, all your body shall be enlightened.
Mat 6:23 “But if your eye is evil,1 all your body shall be darkened. If, then, the light that is within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! Footnote: 1This is a Heḇrew idiom – a good eye means to be generous, while an evil eye means to be stingy.
Mat 6:24 “No one is able to serve two masters, for either he shall hate the one and love the other, or else he shall cleave to the one and despise the other. You are not able to serve Elohim and mammon.1 Footnote: 1Personification of wealth.
Mat 6:25 “Because of this I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you shall eat or drink, or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than the food and the body more than the clothing?
Mat 6:26 “Look at the birds of the heaven, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father does feed them. Are you not worth more than they?
Mat 6:27 “And which of you by worrying is able to add one cubit to his lifeʼs span?
Mat 6:28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Note well the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin,
Mat 6:29 and I say to you that even Shelomoh in all his esteem was not dressed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 “But if Elohim so clothes the grass of the field, which exists today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more you, O you of little belief?

Mat 6:32 “For all these the gentiles seek for. And your heavenly Father knows that you need all these.
Mat 6:33 “But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these matters shall be added to you.
Mat 6:34 “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself.

Mat 7:7 “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.
Mat 7:8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.
Mat 7:9 “Or is there a man among you who, if his son asks for bread, shall give him a stone?

Yahushua taught of His Father, our Father, YHWH. His focus was to put our focus on YHWH and keeping the commandments of YHWH. He led by example and taught Torah.

I know of no one who embraces the Bible that has trouble believing in the prophets; that they are of YHWH and that YHWH spoke through them. How is it that many have so much difficulty understanding who Yahushua is and that He too spoke the words of YHWH?

Joh 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener.
Joh 15:2 “Every branch in Me that bears no fruit He takes away. And every branch that bears fruit He prunes, so that it bears more fruit.
Joh 15:3 “You are already clean because of the Word which I have spoken to you.
Joh 15:4 “Stay in Me, and I stay in you. As the branch is unable to bear fruit of itself, unless it stays in the vine, so neither you, unless you stay in Me.

No one can convince another of anything. No one can make another do anything, say anything or believe anything. Sure, under great distress and torture one can be made to say and do but it is not from the heart but only to stop the pain. YHWH knows the heart. How well do we know our individual hearts? Do we really believe what we know? Do we put it into action every day in every area of our lives? This is a spiritual life; not knowing of/about, but living what we know thus believe.

And in our knowing, in our doing as we believe, our faith becomes trust, and trust becomes a true love for what and Whom we trust/believe in. This then becomes a personal relationship; one with Father and Son if we so choose.

But it all comes down to what we desire. What we seek and pursue.

So perhaps a better question yet to ask is,

Do you want to know Yahushua?

Ponderings and Musings - YHWH Our Biggest Blessing

So many times we look towards others and even outwardly towards what the day brings for our blessings and to be uplifted. We know YHWH blesses us and we know He put others in our lives to stand with, pray with, laugh with, cry with…. to be there for each other. But, we often seem to forget that YHWH Himself is our greatest blessing.

YHWH is there at 2am when we can’t sleep; YHWH is there when we feel sick in a circumstance we just can’t openly show it or discuss it. YHWH is there to see what we need even before we need it; YHWH is there to hear the heartfelt groaning within us before we can put it into clear thoughts or words.

YHWH is there. YHWH IS.

Sure, we do know He is there but really, is He the first one we think of to run to when we want to talk something over?, to share something we are going through, sorting things out?, is YHWH the one we think of when we want an ear and encouragement?

YHWH encourages with His Word; He encourages us through the majesty of His creation. He encourages us through others too but He Himself gives us a peace throughout our being no one else can give.

When I want to commune with YHWH and don’t know where to start in reading His Word, I ask Him to lead me to what He has for me, to guide me to the part of His Word I need. And while I meditate and be still before Him, I usually go to Psalms/Tehillim where His goodness and mercy is loudly proclaimed.

Singing is another way to be with YHWH; I cannot carry a tune very well but it comes from my heart and as I dwell on the words I sing and how I mean them from my heart to His, I forget how I may sound and focus completely on my Creator, my Father, My All.

YHWH is wisdom, peace, love, set-apartness (holiness) and righteous. YHWH completes me; satisfies my being in whole as nothing else, as no one else can.

And whether we run to Him first or not, whether we think of Him first or not, He always has His eye on us and He is always waiting for us to come to Him. YHWH is never too busy, too tired, too stressed, or ever unable to be there for us. YHWH is. (I didn’t put “is” in capitals to signify that while YHWH doesn’t shout, wave wildly or do anything to bring attention to Himself, He is right there speaking to us in that still small voice in all His wisdom, with all His provisions and love to those who love Him, seek Him and will receive from Him. Besides if we just look around us, we see YHWH everywhere . HalleluYah.)

Psa 121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills; Where does my help come from?

Psa 121:3 He does not allow your foot to be moved; He who watches over you does not slumber.

As children and even as adults, we often fear the consequences of our actions; this can be a very good thing because it helps keep us doing right. Many of us do this in our spiritual life too, mindful that we reap what we sow, not wanting to anger our Heavenly Father and sometimes even just not wanting others to see us in a "bad light" we do what is right because we are afraid of the consequences.

A better way is to live out of love. To love YHWH sooooooo much that we want to please Him at every turn, in every moment with every thought, word and deed. To fear displeasing the One we love with all of our heart; to act out of love towards Abba and all others....indeed this is walking in the positive and leaving the negative (fear of consequence) behind.

You know, I spoke to someone who said they were an atheist and this particular person told me they didn't believe in a God who was harsh and unforgiving. They didn't seem to want to hear it but I told them that is not the God I know. Yes, He abhors wickedness, those that prey on others, those that revel in themselves and self-gain but He shows the better paths, the good way to those that ask, seek and will receive it. He shows and He helps us become set apart and righteous in His eyes. He gave us His Son, Yahushua who lived as YHWH commands, who set the example and who triumphed over death; He gave us Yahushua as our Master and Messiah. YHWH has given us so much, so much is there for the receiving when we will put HIM first and love HIM with our whole heart, being and might (with all we are and have). HalleluYah. A Short Pondering on Loving YHWH with All My Being

Deu 6:6 “And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart,

Am pondering “with all your being”. To love YHWH with ALL my being and might is to use all that I am and have to HIS purpose, to put my all where my mouth is (telling YHWH from my heart I love Him). Do I live daily, even each moment pleasing to YHWH to back up my words? Do I put Him first in all things and ways or do I hold out parts and times where I put myself first?

When we love something/someone, we put a lot of time and effort into it and that effort is not thought by us as burdensome or hard but instead is done with passion. Is this how I show my love to YHWH and Yahushua?

What joy the people had when the Torah was opened and read to them! How eager they were to keep His ways. I was reflecting on how joyful I was to learn of His ways, His times and commands to do them. May we always love to seek YHWH and His ways to do them with our whole heart. May we hold tight to them, hold them dear and observe them always.

Reflecting Upon Yom Kippur

As we look towards the coming of Yom Kippur, it is certainly a time of reflection; it is a time to see anew where we lack and whom we have harmed and make amends. But more than that, I see it too, as a time of gratefulness to YHWH for His great mercy, kindness and forgiveness faithfully always towards us. It is a time to understand His longsuffering towards us and His great desire for us to trust and give to Him our complete all.

I have been reflecting on how YHWH makes it to rain on the good and wicked and how He answered, gave provision with mercy to Cain and Hagar…to those who did not put Him first and love Him with their all. YHWH is merciful to all! How much more then shall we, His people who love Him with our all and desire to have Him first in our lives, praise Him, honor Him with our lives in obedience and reverence. HalleluYah.

Giving All to YHWH

If I say I am YHWH's and I follow Yahushua, do I then complain through my carnal thinking that the way is too rough? That there are things in my life I just can't (won't) give up for Him?

If I love YHWH as I say I do; if I am what they call "sold out" to Him, then let my life prove it. Let me show it fully by letting Him guide all I do and say; may my life then say HE is first in my life and no other (especially myself).

This is the challenge I take today. "Prove it!" All that I can get back from it is gain....a chance/choice to stop struggling between my desires and His. A chance/choice to always shine Him to the fullest.

I thank Abba YHWH for His love and patience and for never giving up on me to shape me as the vessel HE created me to be.

Isa 55:1 “Oh everyone who thirsts, come to the waters. And you who have no silver, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without silver and without price.

I often wonder to myself why I make things so hard; why I often choose my way over His when I know His is the good path, the good way and that in Him there is no want or need but is a place filled with peace. May I learn and take His way and may I never turn back to my way again.

Being Childlike

Mat 18:3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become as little children, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.
Mat 18:4 “Whoever then humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the reign of the heavens.
Mat 18:5 “And whoever receives one little child like this in My Name receives Me.

The CJB version says it this way:

Mat 18:2 He called a child to him, stood him among them,
Mat 18:3 and said, "Yes! I tell you that unless you change and become like little children, you won't even enter the Kingdom of Heaven!
Mat 18:4 So the greatest in the Kingdom is who ever makes himself as humble as this child.
Mat 18:5 Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me;

Being child-like, is to be open, pliable, and hungry to learn. And a young child trusts their parents without question or thought and knows their parents’ voices amongst all the other voices they hear.

To be childlike is also to be free of much of the things of the world; in the case of a true child, simply because they have not been exposed or learned of worldly ways.

A child must learn everything; what is hot, what is cold. What is safe and what is dangerous. A child will learn too, what is “bad” or “good” in their own eyes according to their life experience. Whether we realize it or not, we learn everything from our life experience and perspective. What is disappointment or failure to one is not to another; what brings joy to one will not be joyous to another. As adults, or at least to my thinking concerning myself, I believe there are many perspectives I need to unlearn.

May I learn what is joyous from the eyes of my Abba YHWH; may I learn what expectation to hold on to and what expectations to let go of. May I learn to love as HE loves and may I learn to trust Him as a small child trusts their earthly father – immediately and without question, holding on to their father’s hand, soaking up all he has to teach them….so too may I soak up all YHWH has to show/teach me without question or hesitation; may I never let go of His hand.

Psalm 116

This Psalm touched my heart anew today and wanted to share it with you. And though I usually use The Scriptures 1998+ version, today I am using the CJB, The Complete Jewish Bible (with the following changes: ADONAI changed to YHWH and God changed to Elohim), simply because breaking out of my usual routine now and then is a good way to avoid taking in scripture in a routine way as well....thus opening my heart to YHWH a fresh.

Psa 116:1 I love that YHWH heard my voice when I prayed;
Psa 116:2 because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Psa 116:3 The cords of death were all around me, Sh'ol's constrictions held me fast; I was finding only distress and anguish.
Psa 116:4 But I called on the name of YHWH: "Please, YHWH! Save me!"
Psa 116:5 YHWH is merciful and righteous; yes, our Elohim is compassionate.
Psa 116:6 YHWH preserves the thoughtless; when I was brought low, he saved me.
Psa 116:7 My soul, return to your rest! For YHWH has been generous toward you.
Psa 116:8 Yes, you have rescued me from death, my eyes from tears and my feet from falling.
Psa 116:9 I will go on walking in the presence of YHWH in the lands of the living.
Psa 116:10 I will keep on trusting even when I say, "I am utterly miserable,"
Psa 116:11 even when, in my panic, I declare, "Everything human is deceptive."
Psa 116:12 How can I repay YHWH for all his generous dealings with me?
Psa 116:13 I will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of YHWH.
Psa 116:14 I will pay my vows to YHWH in the presence of all his people.
Psa 116:15 From YHWH's point of view, the death of those faithful to him is costly.

What Do I Arm My Choices With?

Choice is our tool of life and is our weapon in the war between flesh and spirit; and we load this weapon from/with our flesh or spirit. Choice either maintains what we have chosen before or it changes from what we had to what the new choice brings.

Now, within the two mindsets that we choose from (flesh or spirit), there are tools within each that help us maintain the source of our choice.

With the flesh, there is fear, sense of dire need, want, strife, and all the things that flesh produces to feed itself to keep one needing and wanting for oneself alone.

With the spirit, there is love, joy, peace, hope and all the things spirit produces. One’s spirit is fueled by faith/trust in YHWH and spirit is selfless whereas the flesh is selfish.

One walking in the Ruach is never alone; in truth no one is alone. Any may call on the name of YHWH and He will provide; but, it is the one who desires YHWH above all else that walks in Him daily, even moment to moment and thus is armed in and through Him.

Eph 6:11 Put on the complete armour of Elohim, for you to have power to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Eph 6:12 Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual matters of wickedness in the heavenlies.
Eph 6:13 Because of this, take up the complete armour of Elohim, so that you have power to withstand in the wicked day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand, then, having girded your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Eph 6:15 and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace;
Eph 6:16 above all, having taken up the shield of belief with which you shall have power to quench all the burning arrows of the wicked one.
Eph 6:17 Take also the helmet of deliverance, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Elohim,
Eph 6:18 praying at all times, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the set-apart ones;

Choice is like a bow and our mindset is the arrow springing forth actions (thoughts, words and deeds) from what our heart holds dear, ourselves or YHWH.

Rom 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.”

Rev 3:20 “See, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I shall come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Psa 86:5 For You, יהוה, are good, and ready to forgive, And great in kindness to all those who call upon You.

Pro 1:33 “But whoever listens to me dwells safely, And is at ease from the dread of evil.”

Jer 6:16 Thus said יהוה, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and find rest for yourselves. But they said, ‘We do not walk in it. (my note here - we can choose…can choose to walk in it, can choose to change our choice, to choose HIM over our own desires)

Psa 9:9 And יהוה is a refuge for the crushed one, A refuge in times of distress.

Psa 32:8 “Let Me instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; Let Me counsel, My eye be on you.

These are but a few promises and invitations of YHWH to allow Him to show us the way, to help us, and He even sent Yahushua Messiah who is our Example and beckons us (Rev 3:20) to follow Him, to sup with Him….to stay in the Ruach Ha Kodesh moment by moment and choice by choice.

May we always be aware of what mindset, from what desires in our heart, we arm our choices with. HalleluYah.

Love YHWH Like a Birthday

Like a small child’s chatter about an upcoming birthday (theirs or someone else’s), or even an adult when a favorite Sabbath comes about (even the weekly set-apart day of YHWH), there are just days and times we look forward to….and it brings out the child in us no matter what age we have become.

It dawned on me today (just like the sun dawns upon a new day…slowly, surely and brightly), how precious YHWH is; how exalted, wonderful and mighty YHWH is.

And then I thought, what if I had only one day (be it once a year or once a lifetime) to think upon YHWH, to thank Him, to love on Him and to serve Him? Oh how I would fill that day with only HIM! How I would not waste a moment of that day filling it with rejoicing in Him in thought, word and deed. Wouldn’t it be a blessing then to realize what I have and how blessed I am to have Him every day and to have every day to live/love/serve Him in?

Even those that live in places where it is considered a crime to worship Him in the way they believe, nothing can keep the heart from rejoicing in Him; nothing can keep the heart from keeping focus on Him. And yet, unfortunately, most of us (most of whom have freedom of worship), not only take our Creator and each day given by Him for granted, we often put Him aside for later…like a tomorrow that never comes. Till something we count as trouble and too big for us, then we remember Him for sure. But if we truly love Him and cherish Him, we will take each of our individually numbered days and fill them with Him.

Psa 119:1 Blessed are the perfect in the way, Who walk in the Torah of יהוה!
Psa 119:2 Blessed are those who observe His witnesses, Who seek Him with all the heart!
Psa 119:3 Yea, they shall do no unrighteousness; They shall walk in His ways.
Psa 119:4 You have commanded us To guard Your orders diligently.
Psa 119:5 Oh, that my ways were established To guard Your laws!
Psa 119:6 Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commands.
Psa 119:7 I thank You with uprightness of heart, When I learn the right-rulings of Your righteousness.
Psa 119:8 I guard Your laws; Oh, do not leave me entirely!
Psa 119:9 How would a young man cleanse his path. To guard it according to Your word?
Psa 119:10 I have sought You with all my heart; Let me not stray from Your commands!
Psa 119:11 I have treasured up Your word in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
Psa 119:12 Blessed are You, O יהוה! Teach me Your laws.
Psa 119:13 With my lips I have recounted All the right-rulings of Your mouth.
Psa 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your witnesses, As over all riches.
Psa 119:15 I meditate on Your orders, And regard Your ways.
Psa 119:16 I delight myself in Your laws; I do not forget Your word.

Psa 9:1 I praise You, O יהוה, with all my heart; I declare all Your wonders.
Psa 9:2 I rejoice and exult in You; I sing praise to Your Name, O Most High.

Psa 103:1 Bless יהוה, O my being, And all that is within me, Bless His set-apart Name!
Psa 103:2 Bless יהוה, O my being, And do not forget all His dealings,
Psa 103:3 Who forgives all your crookednesses, Who heals all your diseases,
Psa 103:4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with kindness and compassion,
Psa 103:5 Who satisfies your desire with the good, Your youth is renewed like the eagleʼs.
Psa 103:6 יהוה is doing righteousness And right-ruling for all the oppressed.
Psa 103:7 He made known His ways to Mosheh, His acts to the children of Yisraĕl.
Psa 103:8 יהוה is compassionate and showing favour, Patient, and great in kindness.

May I (we) live this day and every day the way I (we) love and treasure YHWH from my (our) heart. May I return every day to Him, to His desire, in obedience and in hunger for Him. Not only are His ways and thoughts higher than mine, they are sweeter than honey to those that desire to know them and live them. HalleluYah.

Prayerfulness - A State of Being

A couple of nights ago, YHWH put someone on my heart to pray for. It not only continued into the next day; but since that time, I have felt led to "stay in a state of prayer" (or my new made up word...prayerfulness) concerning all things.

Now I have not been perfect in it; yesterday my mind wandered onto its own path and suddenly I felt far from YHWH and out of the peace that my heart had been basking in. Yet the minute I began to pray, shalom flooded back in and I remembered the charge given to me to stay prayerful.

Prayer is not just "asking" for things; and, I believe foremost of all, it is to ask for YHWH's desire when I do pray. Prayer is talking to YHWH; prayer is also thanking Him, praising Him, submitting to Him...to HIS desire and not my own. Prayer is being mindful of the things of YHWH or so I have learned in my personal life.

1Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore.
Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of YHWH in the Messiah Yahushua concerning you.

Prayer also includes seeking and is actually what prayer begins with: seeking YHWH in something, a request, a need, for guidance, wisdom, etc., we are seeking YHWH.

All throughout the scriptures YHWH has promised to be found when sought by His people, by all that love Him:

Deuteronomy 4:29-31 “But from there you shall seek יהוה your Elohim, and shall find, when you search for Him with all your heart1 and with all your being. Footnote: 1Jer. 29:13.
“In your distress, when all these words shall come upon you in the latter days, then you shall return to יהוה your Elohim and shall obey His voice.
“For יהוה your Elohim is a compassionate Ěl, He does not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

1Ch 16:8-12 Give thanks to יהוה, call upon His Name, Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him, Speak of all His wonders!
Boast in His set-apart Name, Let the hearts of those seeking יהוה rejoice!
Seek יהוה and His strength, Seek His face continually!
Remember His wonders which He has done, His signs and the right-rulings of His mouth

1Ch 22:19 “Now, give your heart and your being to seek יהוה your Elohim. And rise up and build the set-apart place of יהוה Elohim, to bring the ark of the covenant of יהוה and the set-apart vessels of Elohim into the house that is to be built for the Name of יהוה.”

Psa 34:10 Young lions have lacked and been hungry; But those who seek יהוה lack not any good matter.

Hos 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap according to kindness, break up your tillable ground, it is time to seek יהוה, till He comes and rains1 righteousness on you. Footnote: 1The figurative meaning of “rain” is “to teach.”

Mat 6:33 “But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these matters shall be added to you.

I must confess, long ago I once thought prayer to be a chore; but, now I find it is a most blessed place to be in. It is a time of fellowship, love and clinging to YHWH and that to me is better than anything else this life has to offer. HalleluYah!

A Favorite Verse

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.

I love this verse and find it so very comforting because it is a promise that no matter where I am at spiritually, emotionally, physically, etc., I can ask and receive YHWH's wisdom. There are times when I fall hard, mess up and basically feel lost and this verse always gives me hope for YHWH gives generously, freely without reproach to any and all who ask for His wisdom. This is the love of YHWH. With His wisdom, there is understanding and in understanding there is hope and better choices and knowledge of His ways and desires if we want to know and do them.

With wisdom I feel prepared and equipped to better ask for forgiveness, do teshuva and to better walk in His ways. With wisdom, I am reminded I am not alone for YHWH is there beside me....He gave me His wisdom, did He not? Again, what an act of love to equip those you care about with wisdom so freely for the asking. With wisdom I can understand how to walk in His love if I would but act on the wisdom given to me.

His Word has so many wonderful promises and offerings of love for us. Praise His set-apart Name!

Are we like Job’s friends?

I was thinking about Job today and how his friends so helpfully blamed him for what he was going through. How much they wanted to “correct” him for his own good and how much they argued with him. They didn’t listen to him and accept him and what he was saying; they judged him and treated him accordingly.

And when we read the story of Job, it is easy to look at it with detached eyes and look at it “objectively” from all angles. It is good to study this story and there is much to learn but how often do we look at it (or try to anyway) from Job’s eyes (viewpoint)?

Job lost so much; he lost everything from family to possessions, from friends to his reputation and all in a short time. I was thinking about the great stress that would bring and the great grief he would be under. Still, Job did not blame YHWH as some may do; but, Job still loved YHWH and stood in faith and trust in Him knowing the truth of YHWH that He is compassionate, merciful and good.

Job was not being punished for anything he did but was being tested and tried. And I think his friends and neighbors were being tested as well for it was an opportunity for them to uplift Job, to encourage and to just love him during this time none of them seemed to understand the whys and wherefores of.

Lev 19:34 ‘Let the stranger who dwells among you be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself. For you were strangers in the land of Mitsrayim. I am יהוה your Elohim.

Zec 8:17 ‘And do not plot evil in your heart against another, and do not love a false oath. For all these I hate,ʼ declares יהוה.”

Joh 13:34 “A renewed command I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another. (said by Yahushua)

If we are to love the stranger and our neighbor like this, how is it that we are not always this way with those closest to us? And…do we show the stranger and our neighbor love regardless of what they show to us?

Joh 13:35 “By this shall all know that you are My taught ones, if you have love for one another.” (said by Yahushua)

Love is taught and shown by YHWH and Yahushua throughout the Word and even expounded upon by the disciples and yet it seems to be the hardest concept or act for us to continue in towards one another.

And while Job’s circumstances do evoke compassion, we are to love those that despise us, misuse us, and hate us.

I believe that walking in the love of Elohim is the most set apart observance we can do. It is certainly the most YHWH and Yahushua like act we can perform. To love one who seems difficult whether we know or understand their circumstances or not…. it is a command of YHWH to love unselfishly. This is not only pleasing to YHWH but it brings shalom, joy and satisfaction to us in Him who loves us this way. And in this kind of love towards one another, we are following Yahushua and are then like our loving Abba, YHWH.

May we take notice today what kind of friend and loved one we are to all others. May we walk in His love.

Isaiah 12 - Praise YHWH

2) “See, Ěl is my deliverance, I trust and am not afraid. For Yah, YHWH, is my strength and my song; and He has become my deliverance.”
3) And you shall draw water with joy from the fountains of deliverance.
4) And in that day you shall say, “Praise YHWH, call upon His Name; make known His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His Name is exalted.
5) “Sing to YHWH, For He has done excellently; this is known in all the earth.
6) “Cry aloud and shout, O inhabitant of Tsiyon, for great is the Set-apart One of Yisraʼĕl in your midst!”

The Flesh Is Founded And Based On Need

For a long time YHWH taught me about choices and how to see and understand the choices I make everyday. Of late, He has been teaching me with a deeper look at what "flesh" (flesh mindset, carnal thinking....that mindset not of Him) is. This past week, I read and studied 2Peter and thought about leaving the flesh as he spoke of and YHWH gave me this:

the flesh seeks need from (or through) the lust of desire; the spirit (walking in the Ruach Ha Kodesh) satisfies (or completes) through love and shalom.

"the flesh seeks need from lust"....I had never seen the flesh in this light or understanding before. I understood that my flesh is never satisfied; it always wants more; it always fears not having enough and now I see why. The flesh thrives on need and need is provided and strengthened through lust (that type of desire only given from the flesh...wanting and thinking we "need" what we see - an example of this is wanting what we see others have) and because of the driving force of need behind the flesh nature, one can never have enough to satisfy, to complete the need in anything or any area of our lives.

This is the mindset, the "old man" we are delivered from through Yahushua Messiah. 2Peter, among many other places in YHWH's Word, teaches, exhorts, and encourages us to leave the flesh behind. Therein too, is a promise from YHWH:

2Pe 2:9 YHWH knoweth how to deliver the reverent out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

There is always a choice to walk in (or follow) our flesh or spirit; to follow after the lusts of the flesh or after Yahushua Messiah. The opposite of lust is love.... lust is at the cost of others; love is at the cost of ourselves (at the cost of our flesh). Everything we do, every choice we make is either to feed our flesh (to gather for ourselves, to feed that unending "need" of the flesh) or to feed the spirit (i.e. to walk in the love of YHWH - at the cost of our flesh, loving and caring for others as ourselves)....not fearing, not living in "need" but satisfied in YHWH through His shalom and love.

Following after Yahushua is to die to our flesh nature and to walk as Yahushua walked, in peace and love of YHWH. Following after Yahushua is a daily, moment by moment choice through everything we think, say and do. It is through each choice that we build and show (through the fruit of our choices) which "master" we have chosen in truth.... Yahushua Messiah or our flesh.

2Pe 1:2 Favour and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of YHWH, and of Yahushua our Master,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and reverence, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience reverence;
2Pe 1:7 And to reverence brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Master Yahushua the Messiah.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2Pe 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Master and Saviour Yahushua the Messiah.
2Pe 1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Peter (Kepha) felt that it was important to remind those he shared with (including us) to leave the ways of the flesh (and world) behind; so important that he reminded knowing those he wrote to knew of what he spoke of. It is because we must be diligent to live the truth we have been given; it is important that we are vigilant to make every choice through the spirit which is pleasing to YHWH.

YHWH Is Life - Not A Religion

Most of us were taught to "include" YHWH in our lives from our parents and/or church; as if "visiting" (or thinking about/meeting with) YHWH once a week, twice a week or even every morning/evening - i.e. at appointed times - was to know Him, was to have Him in our lives but to truly know YHWH is to have Him not only a part of our lives (rather than just in our lives) but is to live Him, is to have Him direct our paths, to have HIM teach us HIS ways and to mold us to be like Him and like our Messiah, Yahushua who on this earth showed us in word and deed how to live YHWH.

Walking in the flesh is forgetting/forsaking YHWH; it is choosing "me" over Him so our flesh becomes our god, our master and yet we fool ourselves into thinking that YHWH is a part of our lives when in truth YHWH is either our life or not...period.

Everything we think, say and do affects our relationship with YHWH and affects our spiritual life. In everyday life, a person carefully considers how their actions affect their family and their own reputation; yet, most of us do not consider YHWH this way.

Deu 6:4 “Hear, O Yisraʼĕl: YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one!
Deu 6:5 “And you shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.
Deu 6:6 “And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart,
Deu 6:7 and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up,
Deu 6:8 and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
Deu 6:9 “And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

YHWH tells/commands us to live putting Him first in our life and in the life of our family as well...to take Him with us first and foremost wherever we go (i.e. to live Him).

This next long passage tells how seeking and putting YHWH first not only brings about knowing Him and His ways but how enriched and blessed our life is in Him:

Pro 2:1 My son, if you accept my words, And treasure up my commands with you,
Pro 2:2 So that you make your ear attend to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;
Pro 2:3 For if you cry for discernment, Lift up your voice for understanding,
Pro 2:4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as hidden treasures,
Pro 2:5 Then you would understand the fear of YHWH, And find the knowledge of Elohim.
Pro 2:6 For YHWH gives wisdom; Out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Pro 2:7 And He treasures up stability for the straight, A shield to those walking blamelessly,
Pro 2:8 To watch over the paths of right-ruling, And the way of His kind ones He guards.
Pro 2:9 Then you would understand righteousness And right-ruling, and straightness – Every good path.
Pro 2:10 For wisdom would enter your heart, And knowledge be pleasant to your being,
Pro 2:11 Discretion would guard you; Understanding would watch over you,
Pro 2:12 To deliver you from the evil way, From the man who speaks perversities,
Pro 2:13 Those who leave the paths of straightness To walk in the ways of darkness;
Pro 2:14 Who rejoice to do evil; They delight in the perversities of evil;
Pro 2:15 Whose paths are crooked, And they are perverted in their ways;
Pro 2:16 To deliver you from the strange woman, From the foreigner who flatters with her words,
Pro 2:17 Who forsakes the companion of her youth, And has forgotten the covenant of her Elohim.
Pro 2:18 For her house has sunk down to death, And her paths to the dead;
Pro 2:19 None going in to her does return, Nor do they reach the paths of life –
Pro 2:20 So walk in the way of goodness, And guard the paths of righteousness.
Pro 2:21 For the straight shall dwell in the earth, And the perfect be left in it;
Pro 2:22 But the wrong shall be cut off from the earth, And the treacherous ones plucked out of it.

Yahushua Messiah put it this way:

Joh 12:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
Joh 12:25 “He who loves his life shall lose it, and he who hates his life in this world shall preserve it for everlasting life.
Joh 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me. And where I am, there My servant also shall be. If anyone serves Me, the Father shall value him.

It took me many years of my life to figure out that YHWH is not only all I need, He is all I want. I desire to know Him and I desire to give Him all I have. I seek to follow Yahushua who taught and lived as my example in how to please YHWH.

It is not an easy road but it is simple; keep my eyes on HIM. And when I cannot go further, HE will give me the strength to complete in me what I chose, what HE began in me.

Why would I want to spend an eternity with someone I don’t know? How can I please One that I don’t know? And how can I possibly please YHWH if I put my desires first in my life moment to moment?

I tried to straddle the fence….give Him most of me and my life and keep just a teeny tiny bit for myself but it doesn’t work like that. For one thing, the flesh can never have enough; it is never satisfied. And for another thing, keeping “my wants” dear to my heart means I am first and not Him; and it means that though I go through the motions of following His ways, it is just that….going through the motions rather than going from my heart towards Him.

I am thankful that I have found what I want out of life, even if it took most of my lifespan to do it; and, I am thankful that I choose YHWH and Yahushua, Father and Son rather than anything this life seems to offer because all things of this life passes away but YHWH and Yahushua eternally stay the same. HalleluYah.
